Description
Introducing our Yemeni Ghutrah – a versatile and authentic headwear option that combines tradition and comfort. Crafted from a premium, all-natural cotton-wool blend, this Ghutrah/Shemagh/Turban is the perfect choice for those seeking a blend of style, durability, and breathability. This is a typical cloth used as a turban (‘amamah} in Yemen, Oman, and other parts of the Muslim world. It is also known as a ghutra, shemagh, or massar.
This style of embroidery originates from Kashmir, popular on the Yemeni ghutrah. These are machine embroidered, and hand embroidered are much more expensive. The fabric is an all natural blend of cotton and wool which keeps the head cool in warm weather and warm in cold weather.
While the traditional turban (‘amamah) used in the time of the Prophet ﷺ was quite long (maybe big enough to use as a kaffan or burial shroud for the dead), the Arabian ghutra can also be considered a kind of turban when it is wrapped around the head.

According to some Muslim scholars, there are also spiritual benefits to wearing any kind of turban. For more on this, see here.
